Who represents Oklahoma?

Oklahoma sends seven members to the United States Congress: two senators, who represent the state as a whole, and five representatives, one for each of Oklahoma's five congressional districts. The sections below provide background on each member of the delegation, along with a separate, regularly updated section covering their current committee assignments and recent legislative activity.

James Lankford — Senator

James Lankford was born in Dallas, Texas, and earned a master's degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before entering politics, he spent seventeen years as the director of a Baptist youth camp in Oklahoma, one of the largest Christian youth camps in the country. Lankford was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and then to the U.S. Senate in 2014, where he has served since.

Lankford serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee and has been the ranking member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. He is known for his work on government efficiency, religious liberty, and border security, and attracted national attention for co-authoring a bipartisan border deal in 2024. Lankford has also been active on issues related to federal spending transparency and oversight of executive branch agencies.

Alan Armstrong — Senator

Alan Armstrong is a Republican senator from Oklahoma who joined the Senate in 2025. He represents Oklahoma as its junior senator, continuing the state's tradition of sending conservative Republicans to the upper chamber.

As a newly seated senator, Armstrong has aligned with Republican priorities in the Senate, focusing on issues of importance to Oklahoma including energy policy, agriculture, and economic development. Further details on his committee assignments and legislative record are expected to develop as he establishes his tenure in the chamber.

Kevin Hern — Representative — CD-01

Kevin Hern was born in Lowndesboro, Alabama, and built a career as a successful McDonald's franchisee, eventually owning and operating numerous restaurants in the Tulsa area. His background as a small business owner and entrepreneur shaped his focus on economic and tax policy. Hern was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018, representing Oklahoma's 1st congressional district centered on Tulsa.

Hern serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and has chaired the influential Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus of House conservatives. He has been a leading voice for reducing government spending, cutting taxes, and promoting pro-business policies. Hern has also focused on energy production and regulatory reform as they affect Oklahoma's oil and gas industry.

Josh Brecheen — Representative — CD-02

Josh Brecheen grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and earned a degree in agricultural economics before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He went on to serve in the Oklahoma State Senate, where he built a record as a staunch conservative focused on energy, agriculture, and constitutional issues. Brecheen was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022, representing Oklahoma's 2nd congressional district in the southeastern part of the state.

Brecheen serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and has been a consistent voice for conservative principles including limited government, Second Amendment rights, and support for Oklahoma's energy and agricultural industries. He has aligned closely with the House Freedom Caucus in opposing government spending increases and challenging executive overreach. His district includes substantial rural and tribal communities whose interests in land use and natural resources he actively represents.

Frank Lucas — Representative — CD-03

Frank Lucas was born in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and earned a degree in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University before returning home to farm and ranch in western Oklahoma. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in a 1994 special election, making him one of the longest-serving members of the Oklahoma congressional delegation. Lucas represents the vast 3rd congressional district, which covers most of western and northwestern Oklahoma.

Lucas served as chair of the House Agriculture Committee and remains one of Congress's most experienced voices on farm policy, rural development, and agricultural trade. He currently serves on the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, where he has focused on research funding and innovation. Over his decades in Congress, Lucas has shaped multiple Farm Bills and worked to protect the interests of wheat farmers, cattle ranchers, and rural communities across the Great Plains.

Tom Cole — Representative — CD-04

Tom Cole was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and grew up in Moore, Oklahoma. He earned a doctorate in British history from the University of Oklahoma and pursued careers in academia and political consulting before entering public office. Cole served as Oklahoma Secretary of State and in the Oklahoma State Senate before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002, where he has served since. He is a member of the Chickasaw Nation and has been a leading advocate for tribal sovereignty.

Cole chairs the powerful House Rules Committee, which controls the legislative agenda on the House floor, and previously chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the campaign arm of House Republicans. He is widely regarded as one of the House's most skilled legislative strategists and institutionalists, known for his deep knowledge of House procedure and history. Cole has also served on the Appropriations Committee and has championed Oklahoma's military installations and Native American communities throughout his tenure.

Stephanie Bice — Representative — CD-05

Stephanie Bice was born in Oklahoma City and earned a degree in marketing from the University of Oklahoma. She built a career in business and public relations before entering the Oklahoma State Senate, where she rose to become Senate Majority Whip. Bice was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, flipping Oklahoma's 5th congressional district, and has been re-elected since.

Bice serves on the House Appropriations Committee, where she works on federal funding decisions affecting Oklahoma and the nation. She has focused on fiscal responsibility, military readiness, and supporting Oklahoma's aerospace and defense industries. Bice has also been active on issues related to small business, energy production, and streamlining government regulations that affect Oklahoma's economy.
