Who represents Nevada?

Nevada sends six members to the United States Congress: two senators, who represent the state as a whole, and four representatives, one for each of Nevada's four congressional districts. The sections below provide background on each member of the delegation, along with a separate, regularly updated section covering their current committee assignments and recent legislative activity.

Catherine Cortez Masto — Senator

Catherine Cortez Masto is the senior United States Senator from Nevada, having served in the Senate since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the first Latina elected to the United States Senate in American history. She was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1964 and is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and Gonzaga University School of Law. Before her election to the Senate, she served two terms as Nevada Attorney General from 2007 to 2015, where she was known in particular for her office's investigation of mortgage fraud in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis.

Cortez Masto won a narrow re-election in 2022 in one of the most closely watched Senate races of that cycle, defeating Republican Adam Laxalt. She serves on the Senate Finance Committee, the Senate Banking Committee, and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. She has been a leading voice in the Senate on immigration reform, consumer financial protection, and clean energy, and served as chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee during the 2022 cycle.

Jacky Rosen — Senator

Jacky Rosen is the junior United States Senator from Nevada, having served in the Senate since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1957 and is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Before entering politics, she worked as a computer programmer and software developer, and served as president of a Las Vegas synagogue congregation. She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Nevada's 3rd Congressional District in 2016 before winning her Senate seat in 2018 by defeating incumbent Republican Dean Heller.

Rosen serves on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and the Senate Armed Services Committee, and has focused on technology, cybersecurity, healthcare, and veterans' issues. She has been an active member of the bipartisan Senate Cybersecurity Caucus and a consistent advocate for Nevada's large hospitality and gaming industries. She won re-election in 2024.

Dina Titus — Representative — CD-01

Dina Titus is the United States Representative for Nevada's 1st Congressional District, which covers central and downtown Las Vegas. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served in the House since 2011. Titus was born in Thomasville, Georgia, in 1950 and is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and Florida State University, where she earned a Ph.D. in political science. She was a longtime professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas before entering politics, and she served in the Nevada State Senate from 1989 to 2009, including a term as Senate Minority Leader.

Titus serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and chairs the Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security. She has been a longstanding advocate for the gaming and hospitality industries, air travel, and federal investment in southern Nevada. She is one of the most senior members of Nevada's congressional delegation and a prominent figure in Las Vegas civic life.

Mark Amodei — Representative — CD-02

Mark Amodei is the United States Representative for Nevada's 2nd Congressional District, which covers the vast rural northern and central parts of the state, including Reno, Carson City, Elko, and the Nevada rangelands. A member of the Republican Party, he has served in the House since 2011, when he won a special election. Amodei was born in Carson City, Nevada, in 1958 and is a graduate of the University of Nevada and the McGeorge School of Law. Before Congress, he served in the Nevada State Assembly and the Nevada State Senate, including a term as Senate Majority Leader.

Amodei serves on the House Appropriations Committee, one of the most influential assignments in the House, where he has worked on funding for public lands, water, and defense infrastructure significant to rural Nevada. He is regarded as a pragmatic conservative and one of the more institutionalist members of the House Republican conference. He has been a key voice on issues of Nevada water rights, mining policy, and federal lands management.

Susie Lee — Representative — CD-03

Susie Lee is the United States Representative for Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, which covers the southern Las Vegas suburbs including Henderson. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served in the House since 2019. Lee was born in Ohio and moved to Nevada, where she built a career as a nonprofit executive. She served as president and CEO of Communities in Schools of Nevada, a dropout prevention organization, before running for office. She won her first congressional race in 2018 in a closely contested district and has since held the seat.

Lee serves on the House Appropriations Committee, where she focuses on education, healthcare, and veterans' services. She has positioned herself as a pragmatic, constituent-focused member of the Democratic caucus and has been active on issues including water policy in the drought-stressed Colorado River basin, healthcare access, and economic development in southern Nevada's rapidly growing communities.

Steven Horsford — Representative — CD-04

Steven Horsford is the United States Representative for Nevada's 4th Congressional District, which covers the northern Las Vegas suburbs and a broad swath of rural southern Nevada. A member of the Democratic Party, he has served in the House since 2023 in his current stint, having previously represented a different Nevada district from 2013 to 2015. Horsford was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1973 and is a graduate of the University of Nevada. He is the first Black congressman elected from Nevada. Before Congress, he served in the Nevada State Senate from 2005 to 2013, including as Senate Majority Leader, the first Black person to hold that position in Nevada.

Horsford serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, with jurisdiction over tax, trade, and entitlement policy, and is one of the more prominent members of the Congressional Black Caucus. He has focused on economic equity, workforce development, and expanding access to healthcare and housing in his district. He has been a voice on federal investments in Nevada's infrastructure and on issues affecting the state's gaming and hospitality economy.
