Dan Sullivan is the junior United States Senator from Alaska, having served in the Senate since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, he was born in Fairview Park, Ohio, in 1964 and is a graduate of Harvard University and Georgetown University Law Center. He is a colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and has been deployed multiple times. Before his election to the Senate, he served as Alaska's Attorney General under Governor Sean Parnell and as Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs under President George W. Bush.
Sullivan sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, where he has been a strong advocate for Arctic security, Alaskan fisheries, and the state's military installations.
